THE STRANGERS 2 Is Coming!
"Rogue Pictures has set in motion a sequel to its summer hit "THE STRANGERS" and has set Bryan Bertino to return to write the script," according to Variety. The article continues, "Bertino wrote the original and made his directing debut on the film; it’s yet to be determined whether he’ll helm the sequel. The expectation is that Liv Tyler, along with several of the original villains, will return. Production is being slated for early 2009." The first movie starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman went on to gross $54 million domestically making it the surprise horror hit of the summer. Writer/Director Bertino apparently has several other genre-related pictures on queue. The article says, "Bertino is also scripting to direct "BLACK," a character-driven thriller with supernatural elements, and is rewriting to direct the thriller "ALONE." Both are for Rogue." More on THE STRANGERS 2 when we hear it!

I didnt write this article, just wanted to share, here is the link for it......

I've not seen The Strangers, but I've heard largely positive things. I'm saving it for a rainy day. Sequel won't do any harm. Bring it on.

I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.  The movie was very tense, and the premise worked wonderfully because it kept things simple.  No needless crap that often litters horror movies today, but good ol' classic bad things happening to ordinary people.

The biggest complaint I can see against it is that it is essentially a drawn out cat and mouse movie.  It definitely has flavors of Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween.

I saw this in the cinema and it really surprised me at how good it was, it was genuinely creepy and scary and in places unforgivingly brutal. The fact that it was based on a true story from 2007 makes it even more chilling and the way it was filmed draws you in completely.
My only gripe about the sequel is that it would be complete fiction and that was the defining factor of the first film for me.

I havn't seen it, though every review from friends has been very positive.

from what I know about it, a sequel seems tough. isn't the point of the first one "i can't believe this is happening!"  Wouldn't the sequel be "i bought a gun. I win."

I have recently read an update on the production status recently, i will look for it and post it when i get to a computer... (I am using my phone). But what I do know is that Bryan Bertino the orignal writer and director has nothing to do with the sequel...
