Want suggestions on great obscure horror films you might have missed?
Or on romantic comedies that are actually entertaining to men?
Or on the best of Charlie Sheen's early work?
Throw the question up here and we'll chuck you some thoughts.
Also add your knowledge to the mix.

A steaming 1984 stonker starring Charlie Sheen and Patrick Swayze as High School/College kids. RED DAWN is worth seeing just for how remarkably cheesy and cheap it is. Based on an alternative reality where the Soviets of the cold war era parachute into America (just like that) and blow the crap out of the States. THE movie that your nerdy, skinny, pasty, spotty, speccy self proclaimed Rambo friend models himself on. Wicked.

And here's the trailer for Red Dawn. Congratulations on digging up this heap of shit. The guy in the brown coat has to be the slowest runner I've ever seen.

I was recently recommended 'Reeker' which i then bought on blind faith (stupidity) and wasnt disappointed.
Whats that smell? its the smell of death' Ok so it could maybe have been useful if it was available in a scratch and sniff version but still a good little horror flick.

I actually forgot to add this one to the list of my favourite vampire films elsewhere on the forum...ah well.
This was released in 1994 and stars Peter Fonda and Martin Donovan, with a cameo from David Lynch.
My opinions on this film changes with each viewing, it is both terrible and fantastic at the same time, it really must to be seen to be believed!
It also happens to have one of my favourite lines of all time - "Let's face it Jim, she's a zombie!"
Incredible!

Rad Dawn was THE movie when I was growing up. I think we even played Red Dawn and ran around shooting invisible Soviets.
And it stands as the ultimate "I want to have awkward geek sex with Lea Thompson" movie, even above Back to the Future and Howard the Duck and Space Camp.
In other news, I recently watched Steve Buscemi's second directorial effort, Interview, and was not disappointed. It plays out like a tense thriller, even though it's a character-driven dialog piece. Great ending.
Also, Keane was a fascinating indie film starring the Band of Brothers redhead, and Northfork . . . about floods and hunting angels . . . bizarro and original.

I loved Keane. I got it through Netflix on a recommendation.

another Charlie Sheen movie The Wraith. a guy avenging his death using an awesome car. I haven't seen it in awhile but i remember it was my favorite movie when i was 8. if you like awkward comedies i'd recommend watching The Brothers Solomon starring Will Forte and Will Arnett.

The Strangers was actually good. It was a lot like an old seventies or eighties thriller. I'd describe it as kind of a cross between the original Halloween and Texas Chain Saw Massacre movies. I'd try to avoid the younger crowds, if you can control it. The night we saw it the theater was filled with younger kids that shouldn't have been seeing it and nobody could keep their mouth shut.

I hate the younger crowds. especially when they try to act like rebels and they throw things at people and they think its funny. Someone brought their baby in to go see Halloween and the whole time the baby was crying.

For some reasons I come to find random movies that (at least amongst people I know) most have never heard of...
The Legend of 1900 - same guy who directed cinema paradiso, stars tim roth I world recommend it to fans of movies like maybe Amadeus
Heart and Souls - A romantic comedy that men might even like (im not a man so I cant be sure) stars Robert Downey Jr
The Kid or The Great Dictator - Cant go wrong with Charlie Chaplin these are two of my favorites
Ed Wood - If your an Ed Wood or Depp/Burton fan you've probably already seen this, but to those who haven't its a funny movie based off one of hollywoods worst directors stars Johnny Depp
Movies to see when your messed up!! I thought it be funny to mention the best movies to watch when you've had or are having a fun night....
Plan 9 from outerspace - Ed Wood directed so dumb that when properly messed up it becomes more hilarious and a great source of mumbled ramblings, plus at boring parts you'll have the option of staring blankly at the screen and not be bored.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - I dont care if your messed up or not SEE THIS movie. Its more fun the first way because you can relate to the characters more but its funny either way. H.S.T. was a genius for writing the book....
Something The Three Stooges oriented funny sober, these are a bit more entertaining when you have no control over your actions and find you and your friends re-enacting scenes poorly and stumbling around hitting each other (i apologize if it doesn't sound fun to you but give it a try it you wont remember tomorrow anyway!)
Spiderman 3 let me first say didn't like this movie at all, maybe because I sobered up in the middle, but it was the second time around funny as hell to see Tobey Maguire dancing like an ass in that club
I'll try to think of some more its hard to remember them all....

You're the first (living) Charlie Chaplin fan I've ever met.

I wish! I could use some of that family money, if they haven't spent it all of course... No I just really like silent films for some reason but most of them are horribly boring, Chaplin is the only one who can hold my attention.
