Kung-Fu Hustle Director to co-star and direct Green Hornet.
It's been no secret that "Pineapple Express" star Seth Rogen has been brought on board to co-write and star in the big screen adaption of The Green Hornet but until this week the identity of who would direct this film has been kept under wraps.
But in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter directors Stephen Chow revealed that he will be taking on not only the directing duties but also the role of Hornet's side-kick Kato.
Chow is quoted as saying "I'm excited to be taking on 'The Green Hornet' -- obviously I've been a huge fan of the show since I was a kid. The idea of stepping into Bruce Lee's shoes as Kato is both humbling and thrilling, and to get the chance to direct the project as my American movie debut is simply a dream come true."
Bruce Lee played Kato in the 1960s TV show based on The Green Hornet, who was originally created in the 1930s as the star of an old-time radio programme in the USA. His character was later seen on television in the 1960s and since the 1940s he has appeared in his own comic-book series.
Don't get too excited yet however, the film is set for a June 25, 2010 release and is being produced by Sony Pictures.
