Its really hard to say if he would have been better?  I mean Harrison Ford did an excellent job!  They both kinda seem like the same person in a way sometimes.  But Harrison made Han Solo who he is!  It just wasnt in Fate's plan to end up with Kurt Russel as Han Solo,  I am glad it didnt happen because The Star Wars original triliogy started in 1977 and ended in 1982.  That means if Kurt would have done the film then we wouldnt have got him in Escape From New York and The Thing, and I defintley would of perferred Kurt doing The Thing than Harrison.  So kudos to Fate for picking Harrison for Star Wars and Kurt for early John Carpetner films!

Agreed, it's hard to imagine anyone being better than Ford in that role, and it would have removed Russell from his best movies. Still on the basis of his audition there, he wouldn't have been a bad pick at all.

Totally agree, i love Russell but Ford's laidback slow drawl fits perfectly for Solo.
