The only thing going through my mind while watching this flick was: "why??". I mean, you have some pretty big name actors in this film and you'd figure that maybe they would have read the script and realized how stupid it was. Or maybe they needed an extra paycheck to buy a new car or go on some exotic vacation. I don't know. All I can say is that this movie was not good. Yes, I know that you are supposed to suspend disbelief when watching any flick, but this was pushing it. I try to be brief in giving summaries without giving away anything, but this time, I'll forgo all that. In a nutshell, the government has build a super computer that has very high intelligence which can reason and carry on a conversation. Somehow, this computer perceives the leaders of the United States are going against the constitution and must therefore kill them. But it can't since the guard watching the computer put some kind of security lock on it (the computer killed the guard). It just happens that this guard had a twin brother and the computer needs him (main character Jerry) to unlock itself so it can carry out its devious plans. So basically, the whole movie is about the computer calling different people on their cellphones or through electronic billboard signs to coordinate getting Jerry and female companion from point A to Washington DC to inside the White House. Yep, thats the movie. And so if you think this is ridiculous, then you are right! It makes so sense at all. This movie is a waste of time and money. I would not recommend paying any kind of price to see it. Definitely a $2.99 rental at best. I would have given this movie a D, but the only thing redeeming was the car chase scenes and car explosions. They did a good job on that, but thats pretty much it. Dont waste your time on this.

The critics agree with you StinkingBob. Any plot that starts off with someone's twin being killed is in trouble.

When I saw the previews for this film, I was a little intrigued by it. But then reality hit me. I was thinking how in the hell could someone always know where this guy is and cause all these things to happen at the precise moment. It would be impossible. Yea, I got duped by the preview just like I was duped by the preview of "the Happening".
Some things I noticed: 1)This is a computer that can do everything, see everything, change everything. So why couldn't it unlock itself? Why did it need main Character Jerry to override the lock on itself. 2) How in the hell did military weapons/secret documents get delivered to Jerry's tiny apartment? I mean, you'd figure these are military weapons so I don't think that the government would be sending these out via fed-ex. 3)It made no sense for the Eagle Eye computer to frame Jerry as a terrorist. I mean, if you were smart, you would try to do things as covertly as possible instead of making him America's #1 most-wanted terrorist, especially if you wanted to get him into the most secure place on earth (The WHite House)! 4) The computer could have easily killed off the top leaders of the United States. I mean, it can cause traffic accidents, remotely control machinery, snap electrical lines, etc. It really didn't need Jerry at all.
So yea, this movie was a let down. It really shouldn't have been made.

I'm not surprised, because there isn't much popcorn competition right now. And lack of logic doesn't bother a lot of people. Just because it's number 1, doesn't mean it's good. First Wives Club was number 1.

Wait wait wait ... the big twist I've been hearing buzz about is that it's a fucking SUPER COMPUTER!?
Way to GO Spielberg, who had this idea ten years ago, right after T2 came out! You are so out of fresh ideas, man, just have sex with Lucas and then commit a lover's suicide. Go on, do it right now!
Too harsh?

Yes, its a super computer!!! I know that sometimes you have to throw logic out the window, but this movie throws the kitchen sink and the baby out as well. No matter how bad a movie is, there will always be people who will like it. Power to them. But for me, not this movie and not this time. I am betting my money on the upcoming movie in October called Quarantine. That looks awesome! Oh yea, I forgot to add to my list: 5) Jerry gets shot 3 times and he still lives. Go figure. He should have been dead and no, he wasn't wearing a vest.

I know it's unwise to disagree with you StinkingBob but I think Quarantine looks like a very poor version of [Rec]?

No matter how hard they try to kill Shia Labeouf, he keeps coming back!
I'll see Quarantine, but then I'll probably see [Rec] afterwards.

Please disagree with me! I tried to Netflix Rec which is the Spanish(original) version of Quarantine, but I couldn't find it. I usually find that the original is better than the remake, BUT from what I have seen from the previews, Quarantine looks like a pretty good xlation that the Western producers have done. So, let's see. Oh, they have Postal out on Netflix! I may watch that one and write a quick review. I wonder what Uwe Boll has done to that movie.
