I like how his face matches that of the drowning child from the original. The trailer at Comic Con did make the whole thing look too Texas Chainsaw for my tastes. They already ruined Halloween by doing it that way.

Rob Zombie's Halloween remake was shot like a Texas Chainsaw film rather than a Halloween film. Halloween is a slow, suspense build up type of filmmaking, but Zombie doesn't do that style. In the footage of Friday The 13th so far, you could just replace Jason with Leatherface and it wouldn't seem out of place at all. But Friday, Texas Chainsaw and Halloween were distinct and each had their own style and mood.

Agreed.  The Halloween remake was just so... blunt.  It didn't feel at all like a Halloween movie.  With Friday the 13th, it's kind of a balancing act.  The franchise represents the most formulaic slasher films, but it also uses this for an almost humor like effect.  I don't know if "humor" is the right word, though, because they're not straight comedies, but they all have great entertainment value.  As bad as Jason X was, it did manage to get this balance somewhat right.  Same goes for the Freddy vs Jason mashup.  My biggest worry with this remake is that it will take itself too seriously and forget that the films should be very entertaining, and not necessarily draining.

Yeah I understand what you mean by Rob Zombie's Halloween not having that bulid up suspense, but it is Halloween in Rob Zombie's vision, Not Rob Zombie's Halloween John Carpetner's vision.  Zombie took the film and went a different direction with it, and personally I like what turned out of it.

So let me ask you Sheridan and Tyler, Did you like Rob Zombie's vision of Halloween, or do you not like it because its not like the others?  The bulid up suspenseful Halloween that we are used too?  Because I believe that Rob took us too a place of Halloween that was left out, Michael's childhood.
