Sultry starlet, Rose McGowan has been approached to play Deep Throat star Linda Lovelace according to reports.
The Telegraph online reports that the Grindhouse star is said to be licking her lips at the possibility of playing the role of the infamous porn star in new movie Inferno. Meg Ryan, Anna Faris and Angelina Jolie are all said to have turned down the role.
Inferno, which will be produced by Brian ‘A Beautiful Mind’ Grazer, will be a biopic about Lovelace, born Linda Boreman, who claimed, in her autobiography Ordeal that she was forced at gunpoint to perform the sex scenes by her then husband, director Chuck Traynor, who had denied all accusations.
There have been no announcements as yet on who will be directing the movie.
McGowan, as a familiar face of controversy (the actress recently caused a bit of an uproar when she said she would ‘100 per cent have been in the IRA’ if she gew up in Belfast) is a good choice for the role.
In the meantime, McGowan has recently signed up for Robert Rodriguez’s adaptation of Dynamite comics’ Red Sonja, due for release in 2009.
