Weird. I mean, you know they die, so where's the story?

It looks boring. Of course, so did the first trailer, and I just watched the original last week and was really impressed. Very classy, old school Hitchcock homage. A thriller, not a horror. And a good performance from Luke Wilson no less!  It was a pretty smart script with only a couple of major flaws, which is rare for the genre. I mean, why not knock DOWN the small guy in the woods and keep running? But whatever - looks like they took a good flick and are stretching the premise too far once again.

Unlike most of the folk who inhabit movie sites, I have no problem at all with sequels, to just about anything. What does bother me are straight-to-dvd sequels to big movies. It's a total waste of time for everyone making it and for everyone watching it. No one enjoys them. It takes cynical to new level because they're not bothered at all about them being entertaining or having decent production values.

I dont mind sequels either, I love sequels to good films, but strait to DVD ones bother me too, they hardly ever have any of the same directors, writers and actors, basically its the people who own the rights, and they do it just to make money from the title. There is alot of speculation on Jeepers Creepers 3 going strait to DVD, but it does have the original writer and director on that one, so it could deliver some of what we had before with the first two films. Now I have heard that there is a Donnie Darko 2 coming out strait to DVD, this will be one of those crap films, Richard Kelly the writer and director of the first one has nothing to do with the sequel, he said in an article that he hasnt even read the script and never plans to. Now some jerk offs are just trying to make some money from the title, real Kelly fans know better, we know that he would not a sequel to a movie that cant have one, things like that just really get under my skin!!!

The first Vacancy sucked so badly I dont care if this goes straight to dvd or not, unless people start raving about it being brilliant or something along those lines I wont be watching.

Wrong Turn 2 was leagues beyond the original even though it was straight to DVD.  Easily one of the most thoroughly entertaining horror flicks of the last couple of years.

Are you sure about Wrong Turn 2? I thought the first was a terrific genre piece, but this to me looks, a little, how does one say, cheap and badly acted? -

Oh there's no question that it's cheap and badly acted, but I'd say it definitely succeeds more towards entertaining an audience than the original.
