This is the archetypal 'dumb' hollywood screenplay. Having said that, I'm a sucker for renting these. Hell, I even enjoyed Next.

Thats good! Yeah I am usually a sucker for these types of films too, I never saw Next, but have been tempted to pick it up a few times, I might give it a shot. -T.ROSS PRODUCTIONS

I wouldn't go so far as to recomment Next. But if you've seen everything else, it's not too bad. It's really spoilt by Jessica Biel's poor acting (normally I have no problem, but when she gets kidnapped there are unintentional laughs), and by Julianne Moore's ridiculous role. Cage has enough charisma to carry it.

Thanks guys for your support on my new movie, Knowing. It's great to swing by these fan forums and see the discussions going on.
What would you do if you found a code with the secrets to every major disaster in it? It's a fascinating premise and grabbed me immediately when Alex first sent over the script.
You won't believe where it goes too, it's quite a rollar coaster ride. See you all opening night, 20th March.

Oh man, I love that we now have Nick Cage here. I think this can only be a good thing.
Knowing was a premise that was once attached to Richard "Everyone adores Donnie Darko but shits on Southland Tales" Kelley. With him it stood a chance of being a bit MORE than the premise.
Under the helm of Proyas, who has made two great films, one flawed but interesting film, and then I, Robot ... ... I don't hold my breath. This isn't a "SAVE THE WORLD!" premise. It's a twisted psychological thriller about WHO drew the pictures and whether they're crazy, if it's a hoax, and then preparing for the worst. You can't pump action into this script, it doesn't work. Turns it into the next Next, which (since I've only seen the diner scene where he hits on Biel) is only fun for drinking games.
I hope Proyas wows us, but I have a feeling he's bad at choosing scripts and is now gasping for air in a studio choke hold.

Oh, and the original premise was that there were actual drawings of major disasters ... not the Bible Code.
Nick, care to elaborate on the creative process that went on as this project changes hands?

The great thing about The Box is that the porn industry won't have to change the title.
I hope it's good, Kelly is about the best director working today in my opinion, next to Nolan and Uwe Boll of course.
