Halloween 2 to film in January

It seems that the reboot of the Halloween franchise released last year will be spawning a franchise of its own. According to a reporter at the 30 Years of Halloween convention, producer Malek Akkad has announced that the sequel to Rob Zombie's remake will begin filming in January of next year. Apparently Tyler Mane who played the iconic Michael Myers in the Zombie remake is already on board to reprise the role and many of the other cast are currently in talks.



The bad news, however is that Rob Zombie will not be returning. Rumor has it that in his place we will see Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury directors of the recent French horror 'Inside'.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Zombie's Halloween, I thought it had a good balance of cheesy slasher and reverence for the source material, as well as a witty script. However, I'm pretty sure all my enjoyment came from Zombie's involvement, I loved his previous two films 'The Devil's Rejects' and 'House of 1000 Corpses' and am disappointed that he won't be involved in this sequel (however, I am happy that it frees him up to work on other projects). I have yet to see 'Inside' but most of the buzz I have heard about it has been very positive, so hopefully the new kids on the block can produce something worthy of the name 'Halloween'.

Yeah I really liked Zombie's Halloween too, alot of people bash it, but i like it alot, he os a good film maker!!!
Yeah I posted something about this a while ago, I am pretty sure that the person who played Laurie Strode and Dr. Sam Loomis are signed on for doing the sequel too!
