Screen siren, Charlize Theron has been approached to star alongside Tom Cruise in The Tourist.
According to Empire online, the Oscar winning actress is reportedly in talks to play the role of the Interpol agent in the movie, a remake of the 2005 French romantic thriller, Anthony Zimmer.
The plot will revolve around Theron’s (potential) character who tries to track down the fugitive she once had an affair with, at the time unaware of his history as a master criminal, played by Cruise.
Bharat Nalluri, the man behind Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day is reported to be directing.
Although the original film was critically acclaimed in its native France, the movie was a box office failure. So it is not clear why Anthony Zimmer has been picked up by Hollywood for a remake. Whatever the reason, expect there to be plenty of wit and suspense - Gosford Park writer Julian Fellows has reportedly penned the script.
Production is due to begin in March 2009.
