Is ROB ZOMBIE Back For HALLOWEEN 2?!

This should be considered rumor until it's officially confirmed, but Shock Till You Drop got a tip from a reliable source that Rob Zombie is being courted back to write and direct HALLOWEEN 2. Earlier this year, INSIDE directors Alexandre Bustillo & Julien Maury were in talks to direct the sequel to ROB ZOMBIE'S HALLOWEEN. Then at last months 30 YEARS OF TERROR convention, producer Malek Akkad said pre-production was slated to begin in January 2009 with a March 2009 start date for shooting. Tyler Mane was always signed to reprise the role of Michael Myers, but a writer/director hadn't been locked as of the convention.

Shock reports, "An insider phoned in this afternoon exclusively informing ShockTillYouDrop.com that Rob Zombie is going to reprise his duties as director and carry on the new Myers legacy that he forged with Tyler Mane behind the mask."

If true, this puts Rob Zombie's TYRANNOSAURUS REX on hold until after HALLOWEEN 2.

Parties from Akkad and Zombie's camps are all keeping quiet. But we'll let you know as soon as we hear something concrete!

I wasn't a big fan of Zombie's Halloween.  The segment when he was a kid was okay but the second half was almost a shot-for-shot remake of the original in places, with even the same dialogue used.  And Zombie's trailer park trash Devil's Rejects approach doesn't suit the character of Michael Myers.  I hope someone with a little more style takes over

I did not enjoy the remake at all.  I really hope he does a better job on the sequel.  The remake just seemed so jumble and it didn't seem like it could decide if it wanted to pay tribute to the urban-legend like beginning of Myers, or carve out a new character.  It was really odd just seeing a normal, but mentally deteriorated, kid turn into an inhuman monster.  I think they should've chosen to either keep Myers human, or keep him a monster.  This mixed drink we got just wasn't nearly as satisfying as the straight monster of the original.

I disagree, I really liked Rob Zombie's Halloween, I am huge Michael Myers fan, since I was like 5. I liked how he went into Micjael's childhood, and the kill scenes were awesome. I am siked for a sequel! the first two Halloween films are my favorite out of the series. But I personally would rather see Zombie continue on his T-Rex film.
