Bruce Willis has signed on the dotted line to star in Jonathon Mostow's first film in five years (his last being Terminator 3) "The Surrogates".

The Sci-Fi thriller is based on a Top Cow graphic novel set in a future where all humans reside in isolation and live their lives through surrogate robots who are better-looking versions of themselves.

The Die Harderest thesp will play a cop (wow, what a stretch!) whose surrogate investigates the murders of other people’s surrogates. He then stumbles upon a conspiracy (as you do) and for the first time in years, has to leave his home and see what’s actually out there.

Mostow's a good call for what is pretty much a generic-sounding Sci-Fi flick so hopefully the script by Michael Ferris and John Brancato who penned T3 for him will allow him to mix the action that Willis is known for with some actual character development that was a tad lacking in T3.

Does that mean there will be Bruce Willis, and then someone playing 'ugly Bruce Willis'?

In which case I would recommend this guy -

I gotta say, this does not sound like average sci-fi. Bruce has been a part of original, indie-feeling productions lately. LIVE FREE or DIE HARD dared to be good rather than generic, even at the cost of its fan base. Hostage wasn't fabulous but it had a new twist on an old theme and he played completely against type in 16 Blocks. And lets not forget some of his older but more daring choices like 12 Monkeys and Unbreakable.

I think BW should play the ugly and hot versions of himself, and slowly get blown into bits like Terminator.

Naturally, the Japanese Bruce would be more inclined to say "Yippee Kai-Yay Kimo Sabi"... (from cut-version of Die Hard)
