Will those guys at Platinum Dunes ever let up?, seriously, have a day off, you know, stop trawling through the best horror films of the 80's and getting your cheque book out, just for a day.

Anywho, these requests are obviously falling on deaf ears because Brad Fuller, yes him again, has today confirmed that their rehash of ole' razor fingers will indeed go ahead.

Fuller also confirmed that they are not looking to Robert Englund to pick the glove up again but say he will have a part in the film.
I actually don't mind this being remade, the first was a great horror movie, even if the effects were a little ropey.

I know it's unfashionable, but I'm really looking forward to this, and I hope they do cast Billy Bob Thornton as Freddy.

However this is one that really will be cgi-ed to hell.

Agreed, can't think of anyone else who'd fit the part of Fred than Billybob. Be interesting to see who's calling the shots on it.

This is who should play Freddy in the new version... Zack Ward from Freddy vs. Jason, he plays a character in someone's dream who's possessed by Freddy.  He even expressed interest in it when I interviewed him some time back

Haha didn't even give that any thought, I was just focusing on the uncanny resemblance he has to Robert Englund

I am supersiked for this film to be remade by Platinum Dunes. I as well would like to see Billy Bob take the role as Freddy! Platinum Dunes will deliver us a Nightmare On Elm Street delight! After Thye Unborn, Friday The 13th and The Horsemen come out, people will have a different look and Fuller's and Form's films, right along side with Michael Bay.

I do rant on about Platinum Dunes alot, but I do give my honest opinion at all times, I have enjoyed all there films that have came out, and if any of these future releases are not good, I will be honest with my reviews!

Here is more to what Brad Fueller and Andrew Form had to say about this movie....

Platinum Dunes NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Remake Official! Starts Shooting Spring 2009!

Shock Till You Drop recently sat down and chatted with Platinum Dunes producers Brad Fuller & Andrew Form and the duo confirmed that rights issues have been cleared for A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and that will be their next project. Back in July, Wesley Strick was announced as the writer of the new "re-imagining".

Fuller told Shock, "It's like what we're doing to FRIDAY THE 13TH. It's not Freddy cracking jokes. We want to make a horrifying movie. The concept is so scary, don't fall asleep or you'll die. This guy gets you when you're most vulnerable, in your sleep. We love that. That's the basis of the movie. It'll be most similar to the first one but in terms of kills and dreams we'll borrow from the entire series."

The article also confirms that with the reboot will come a new Freddy Krueger. However, the pair are hopeful that Robert Englund will participate in some fashion, most likely a cameo as Englund has said in public he'd love to do. Full article on SHOCK's site HERE!

this is great! Platinum Dunes is breathing new life into this classic film. seeing Freddy Kruger taking things "seriously" for a change will be worth the wait. the handling of this film will hopefully be great since their past films  have made huge impacts toward the fans. remember, stay truthful and loyal to all your fans PD! thanks!

I like your passion for PD guys but seriously, the only thing they have done thats been a decent effort was their TCM remake, i admire them for trying to pick up the rights and kick start a new generation of fans but they seem to be employing people who know little about what made the original films they're remaking popular in the first place.

Andrew Form and Brad Fueller are two men who love horror films, have you ever watched any of their production notes on any of their dvds?? If not do so...you will see. I think that both TCM films they made were really good, very well produced and directed, all the acting was good as well..... The Amityville Horror film they made was actually really good too, great cast and good directing. Now Friday The 13th was superb!!! I mean they delivered exactly what a Jason Flick should be..... their is no doubt in my mind that they didnt have all the ingrediants that stir up a Friday flick. When these remakes comeout there is going to be those people that will look for every little small thing that is wrong with the film and blow up. But really they are delivering these classics to a whole new generation and putting alot of thought and effort into their projects. I grew up watching the old ones, and love them to death, I watch them over and over. I know about the flaws with the old ones and newer ones. But overall I am a HUGE horror fan so I enjoy every aspect of the the genre.....
