It looks like director Baz Luhrmann’s new film could be his final collaboration with Aussie movie starlet, Nicole Kidman.

The director revealed to the Telegraph online that he would not be working with Kidman again mainly due to the many emotional struggles they both encountered in their personal lives during filming.

"On Moulin Rouge! [Nicole] was breaking up with Tom Cruise, and my father died on the first day of filming.” Luhrmann told the Telegraph.

"The six weeks before we finished filming Australia, we were doing a scene where her character has to say she can't have children and she goes, 'Bazzy, Bazzy I've got see you,' and we sit down under a tree and she tells me she's pregnant and she burst into tears and I did too, because I knew that was what she wanted more than anything else.

"We both said we can't make another movie together because there are only so many life-transforming events we can go through."

Luhrmann and Kidman are currently promoting new film epic, Australia, which also stars Hugh Jackman.

The movie focuses on Lady Sarah Ashley (Kidman); an English aristocrat who when her cattle station is under threat reluctantly joins forces with her husband’s Drover (Jackman) to drive the cattle across miles of Australia’s harsh lands.

The film will be released in the UK on 26 December.
