So I'm watching Halloween for the first time in years. And you can really tell how nervous Jamie Lee Curtis is in her first role. (She said later she thought she would get sacked.)

Here she is cracking up when she's meant to be scared -

(How many times must she have screwed it up that they have to use the one where she's grinning?)

And here she is accidentally looking at the camera -

I'm only 26 minutes in.

So funny, I never noticed these things when I watched it. She's the only thing I really like about this flick!  Maybe that's why they made her unconscious for half of the second film.

I'm now watching the second half on blu ray, which is cool, but not blow-you-away different.

Man, there are a lot of noticeable mistakes in this movie.

Donald Pleasance clearly forgets the name of his own character for a moment when he's introducing himself to the sheriff.

And my favourite is when Pleasance is exiting the psychiatric hospital, arguing with the specialist, the doormat clearly says 'La Vina' in big letters. Which is a chain of Spanish restaurants.

Man, there are a lot of noticeable mistakes in this movie

I think sometimes people forget this was made for a mere $320,000, which wouldn't cover the catering bill on most movies.  And to say the remake was made for a reported $20,000,000 yet was a million times inferior says a lot about Carpenter's skills as an independent filmmaker

Yes even with the small mistakes, it is one of the best horror films of all time!

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising, spotting these things is part of the fun. I love this movie and it's one of only 3 blu-rays I actually bought. They probably only had a couple of takes of most things and everyone was working all sorts of jobs on set, there was a lot of multi-tasking. Doesn't explain Donald Pleasance forgetting his own name though.
