Looks like we all dodged a remake bullet… for now.

Platinum Dunes, Michael Bay’s production company, is no longer interested in remaking Rosemary’s Baby.  Producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form spoke with Collider recently and confirmed the remake factory is off the redo of the 1968 horror classic.

“Rosemary’s Baby” was announced and it’s like a little bit like we’re taking about with Freddy. We went down that road and we even talked to the best writers in town and it feels like it might not be do-able. We couldn’t come up with something where it felt like it was relevant and we could add something to it other than what it was so we’re now not going to be doing that film.

Platinum Dunes was in partnership with Paramount Pictures on the project, so it hasn’t been completely aborted yet.  Who knows if they’re still interested in impregnating a young actress with the devil’s child.  Katie Holmes would be perfect…

I'm surprised they let it go, seems like an obvious title to, dare I say it, make a bunch of cash on opening weekend.

It will be remade fairly soon, it's just a question of when, and by who.

yeah thats what I thought, but it still appears that Platinum Dunes still has the rights along with Paramount Pictures.
