I really like Creep. Flawed in places maybe, but at least the antagonist lives up to the title.

I've been wanting to see Black Christmas for ages. Don't ask me why, but there's something about the atmosphere that's very appealing to me. Especially as it snowed for the first time in a year here in the UK today.
I think that's the famous trailer which has kills that aren't even in the movie they were just filmed for the trailer to make it look more exciting, can you confirm that T.Ross?
RESIDENT EVIL: APOCALYPSE
First was ok, shame it had to be a resident evil movie. Second was one of the worst pieces of bilge I have EVER seen. This was a mixed bag. Great setting, costumes, and set design. HORRIBLE, lazy script. And a teeth grindingly annoying performance by Ali Larter who I thought would own. Milla Jovovich is good in an action role, she deserves better.
TUPAC: ASSASSINATION
It seems like an odd choice, but I have become fascinated by Tupac, Biggie, Death Row and the start of the gangsta rap movement. It's just great drama with two really fascinating murder mysteries in the middle. This documentary is another one saying that Tupac was killed by the head of his record label because he was about to leave and bankrupt the label. I'm not sure I buy it, but it's entertaining.

Underworld Rise of the Lycans This movie was actually really good! It was much better than the first two ones made before this one. This one is a prequel so you dont have to see the other ones to know whats going on. This addition to the series was a nice one. The special effects wre better and the atmosphere was darker. Even if you do not like the first two, I would give this one a shot. (keep an open mind!) The Uninvited I went into this movie expecting a dumb PG-13 horror flick, and it was suprisingly good. The story was solid and the actors were good. It did have a horrible screenplay. The characters were thought out well. I know this is a remake of a Korean horror film titled The Tale of Two Sisters, I heard that movie is amazing, my little sister just bought it so I will be watching it soon. But to all horro fans I do reccomend you to see this movie, you dont have to go to the theater, but I do enjoy the cinema. It is worth a shot!

I saw Within the Woods last night. No, not the Sam Raimi one. I saw the one done by Brad Sykes that is a sequel to his shitfest Camp Blood movies. I can safely say it was probably the worst display of filmmaking ability I have ever seen. It looked like a guy literally borrowed a camera from his friends and taped this thing in their backyard. Fun to watch, though. But you have to be either drunk or with friends, or both.

You've gone so deep into B movie territory you could now just be making it up and I wouldn't know.

I couldn't make this stuff up even if I wanted to. Within the Woods is actually part of a trilogy called Camp Blood. It's part 3. I couldn't find the trailer to Within the Woods on YouTube, but I did find the trailer for Camp Blood 2, which I have seen as well. In other news, I found a box set titled "Fox in a Box" that has three Pam Grier flicks. Just watched Coffy earlier today. I don't know if I prefer it over Foxy Brown, they're both winners in every sense of the word.

Those movies are some of the most objectively horrible movies I have ever seen. You know how some people can make an at least tolerable movie out of a shoestring budget and the movie will have some novel things in it, much like the original Texas Chainsaw or Evil Dead, well these movies are nothing like that. It literally looks like the guy shot it on his friend's property. The "woods" aren't really that heavily wooded. I'd challenge that Sykes (the guy responsible for the movies) has never been to place where people camp out in the wilderness.
I really hope all the actors are just friends of Sykes and not looking for anything professional. I've seen a stand in for high school drama classes put on a better performance. Speaking of high school, the gore effects rival those of a student who's mildly curious about getting into special effects make up. Several times equipment will wander into the frame. Most notably in Camp Blood 3 where a boom mic drops in front of one of the actors' faces. The lighting equipment used is just the attached bulb on the camera, he couldn't even secure a bloody lantern for a fill light.
Now the parts I like about Camp Blood, they're very fun to watch if you're with friends and you all want to have a good laugh at someone else's expense. All have gratuitous nudity and stuff that will make you wonder what in the hell people involved were thinking. And they're all short, so you don't have to put up with too much crap for too long. So yeah, make sure you're either drinking or with a bunch of friends (recommended both) when you watch any of these.

Oh yes, there was definite clownage.
I'll admit to not having seen the first movie, but since half of part 2 is just flashbacks from the first one, it feels like I might as well have.

Appaloosa: FANTASTIC western, awesome script, fantastic performances.
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist: a modern American Grafitti ... loved it. Very subtle humor, fun dialog, simple plot, great acting. A blast.
Phantasm III: loved it, as silly and awesome as the first two, despite everyone's gripes that it sucks.
Phantasm IV: the worst of the four, gets dragged into a dump "wrap up" plot with incoherent back story when they should be killing dwarves and getting killed by brass balls!
Mad Men: almost done with the first season ... great stuff.
Angel Heart: awful, couldn't finish is, and confirms my suspicion that DeNiro has been a shitty actor since the 80s.

My roommate picked up an Eddie Murphy box set. We watched them all this last weekend.
48 Hours Nick Nolte being angry and Eddie Murphy talking fast. This felt more like a documentary, as I have no doubt this is what these actors are like in real life. I'm also fairly certain that Christian Bale was channeling Nolte while doing his Batman voice. If only buddy cop movies were made like this more often.
Beverly Hills Cop The music was most excellent enough to be my roommates new ringtone, and I can't agree more. Just good ridiculous fun. Eddie Murphy showcases his iconic laugh for at least half of the movie, which is either good or bad depending on who you are. For me, it's a good thing because it gives me a reason to try and imitate it, thus looking like a fool.
Trading Places It was fun seeing two comedians who, though they've kind of tanked in recent years, in this pretty by-the-numbers movie. The movie isn't anything brilliant, but it's still fun to watch and has its fair share of moments. Oh yeah, Jamie Lee Curtis is in this as well. Topless.
