Slumdog film leads BAFTA nominations.

The awards season continues to look favourably upon Danny Boyle’s heart-warming movie, Slumdog Millionaire as the film has picked up eleven nominations including Best Director, and Best Film.

Also leading the pack with eleven nominations is The Curious Case of Benjamin Button starring Brad Pitt, who has picked up a Bafta nomination for Best Actor.  The Dark Knight has been granted nine nominations mainly in the technical categories, but the late Heath Leger has received a posthumous nod for Best Supporting Actor as The Joker.

Double Globe winner, Kate Winslet has been nominated for two Best Actress awards for The Reader and Revolutionary Road.

The awards will be held and the Royal Opera House on the 8 February, and will be presented by soon to be un-exiled BBC presenter, Jonathan Ross.
