Okay, kids, I'm throwing together a Top 10 list on the subject above.  Please feel free to hit up with those suggestions.  Here's some of the my personal considerations:

BLOOD BEACH
BLUE SUNSHINE
GOD TOLD ME TO
VAN HELSING

I always thought Christine wasn't nearly as good as it could have been (it was still ok). But that's a pretty contentuous one, so I wouldn't use it.

I'm trying to think what horrors had a great concept that really didn't live up to their potential...

Sound Of Thunder has so much potential as an idea, but that's not horror really...

I haven't heard of these save Van Helsing (which you're DEFINITELY right about).

From what I hear Sleepaway Camp could use a remake that would bring the quality up to par with the concept.

I've seen Sleepaway and it's a terribly made slasher with a very creepy last minute, a great twist. Not that it makes any realistic sense, but still.

To be fair the twist has since been used in a major awards winning film. But I won't say which one because it will spoil it for people.

In other words, the only good part of it has already been remade.

The short story "A Sound of Thunder" is a time travel social political satire.

I vote for a proper Invisible Man remake and Island of Dr. Moreau.

Ah, a couple of good ones, d.j.  A friend of mine brought up MOTEL HELL and FADE TO BLACK.  So far the problem is that the ones I'm choosing are pretty much old skool horror from the 70s/80s.  Hopefully some of the younger whippersnappers will come up with some good suggestions.

And oh man SOUND OF THUNDER was bad.  My eyes couldn't believe what they were seeing . . . Luckily they didn't leave halfway through.

I believe Motel Hell is being remade.

I would like to see Stephen King's Salem's Lot get made into a real film, instead of amother made for TV movie.

My personal wet dream is to direct a good Salem movie. I have the entire opening credit sequence mapped out in my head to a Rachmaninoff piece.    *sigh*

It's my fav king novel.

Yeah I just got done reading Salem's Lot about a week ago. I also hear that the book It is awesome. I love the made for TV movie. But i defintely agree with Twistedmango on that one being remade into a feature film. That would be awesome. And they should get Heath ledger to play the clown, oops I mean Tim Curry to play Pennywise again!

I honestly think that he character as the Joker could of been adapted into Pennywise from It. Does anyone else agree?
