Despite all the Hollywood fanboys clamoring to get their reel seen by Platinum Dunes, Michael Bay's horrific production company has announced their actual choice to helm the Nightmare on Elm Street remake:

Samuel Bayer.

Wanna buy a watch?

Never heard of him? That's because he's never made a movie. But, he has made some music videos, among them Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

This is the fourth classic horror remake for Platinum Dunes. Their The Hills Have Eyes remake was tons of gory fun, their take on Texas Chainsaw Massacre was needless and derivative, and their Friday the 13th remake is poised to chop its way through theater lines this weekend.

Just take the damn photo, fanboy.

What are your thoughts? And what are your picks for the new Freddy? Leave comments below.

Correction- Platinum Dunes did not do the The Hill Have Eyes remake, That was Alexandre Aja with 2oth Century Fox. They did The Hitcher and Amityville.

Oops.

Sorry.

What really makes me sad is that it's the only Platinum remake I've enjoyed and it wasn't Platinum.

Sheridan, that's my fault.

I know thta is funny, whenI was reading that, I was thinking the same thing. I was like man he thought he actually liked a Platinum Dunes film. I was reluctant onto tell you or not, but I couldnt lead you a stray, had to tell you the truth.

So Dalmatian did you like Friday the 13th?

If they can deliver something as fun as the Friday the 13th remake, then I'll be more than satisfied.  I actually enjoy the Nightmare movies (as a whole) the least out of the big three slasher franchises.

I think that they are going to take a more serious approach with it.
