If you're a big Dark Knight fan you may want to get a copy of this. I didn't realise just how much is taken from this graphic novel. The scene with Gordon, Harvey and Batman talking on the roof next to the batsignal - straight from here, lines of dialogue, everything. The idea of the three of them going after the mob's money, all from here. The way Gordon is portrayed, straight from here. The way Harvey is portrayed, straight from here. People being assassinated and Harvey fearing for his life, all from here. Bruce Wayne contributing to Harvey's campaign, the slogan "I Believe In Harvey Dent", etc etc... And I've only read 30 pages, out of 360. Interested to see if the Joker's role is going to be pretty similar too, I bet it is.

I'm interested to read Jeph Loeb's other two Batman graphic novels, because it seems very likely the next Batman film will be based heavily on one of them.

I should really get more into graphic novels and comic books.  I mean, I already model my life after Batman.  However, there are the occasional moments where I wish I had a more convenient guidebook than the movies or cartoons.

I only started reading them last week, after avoiding them for years. I think it's a reaction to having had my fill of shitty movies and staring at screens. The good graphic novels are incredibly cinematic, especially Alan Moore's stuff. If you take the leap of getting one, I'd be amazed if you didn't enjoy it.
