Hells yeah, LaFleaur is awesome! I was worried that they were going to lose direction for Sawyer after resolving his main issue in the previous season, but he's remained one of the strongest characters throughout. I love the way they invert Sawyer and Jack's roles. And I couldn't get enough of Phil: He just did a guest stint as a comedian on Mad Men when I was watching that season of Lost, it was awesome to see him play such a different character! Plus, Sawyer an Miles make an awesome duo from there on in. So much attitude, so little time.

That's where I knew him from! Yeah, it was bugging me. Good actor.
I also love that Horace is played by Doug Hutchison, who played evil mutant Tombs in X-Files Season 1, evil civil war army leader in The Burrowers, and evil prison guard Percy in The Green Mile ... and in Lost, the perfect show for weird evil characters, he plays calm, wise, roly-poly hippie security guard Horace!
With LaFluer they bring back the honest, fun, interesting personal development that was stretched thin in season 2, destroyed season 3, and abandoned season 4 so they could roll of thier sleeves and get the plot under control. Remember how Season 1 was this perfect balance between weird genre plot and cool emotional back stories? Well, it seems they've found the balance again!

I've forgotten...I'm muddled on exactly how everything went down, I'm not sure if you mean before Sayid or after.

Before and after, ha.
No, they reveal how he got away from the cops in the very last episode.
Also, I watched the Season 5 finale last night.
Thoughts: awesome action, awesome acting ... but I was really bugged by the whole "let's make the decision whether or not to detonate a hydrogen bomb based on a brunette who can't really act" thing. Other than that: tops. I was really into it and, though I wish they'd done more with JAcob earlier in the series, I loved seeing him here.
One worry: that all these machinations for hundreds of years, all these individual decisions by different people, all lead up to a single even that there's no fucking way anyone could have controlled or, if they could manipulate all these lives for a single purpose, the force responsible would be so powerful there's no fucking way it would need to depend on a bunch of television actors to carry off its plan.

Yeah, the finale was slick. My favourite stuff was the UnLocke stuff. "You have no IDEA...what I went through...to get here." Beautiful line reading. And the stuff around the bomb scene was amazing to me too. Time to catch up on Season 6, you're only 4 eps behind!

Yeah, the time conundrum stuff and fight scenes and electromagnet stuff all rocked. I just didn't like using a pouty brunette as motivation for altering time and space and possibly murdering tons of people. I mean, I know Jack believed it would fix things. That makes sense for Jack's character, but everyone else is just kind of like "alright, lets blow it up and see what happens." Just a little under-written for my taste.
Other than that, awesome. Yeah, the unlocke stuff was cool. I was really surprised that I did NOT see it coming at all. I just figured that other "god" was the one telling him to do things. I didn't think it was him in disguise. I love that the show is so out there now that someone can come back from the dead and I'm like "oh uure, I believe it."
Also, I love how Sawyer become the main character season 5. I really liked what they did with him and Juliette.
But let's face it, the hands down best part of the finale was that old married couple. I love them.
Watching LAW pt. 1 as we speak. So far: loving it.

Season 6 - first four episodes
- The alternate timeline in Los Angeles = Awesome (minus the idiotic moment where Kate decides to quit running from the law so she can help a complete stranger, although I guess that could be explained by "fate is bringing them all together")
- The stuff on the island - pretty bad. Not quite season 3 bad, but I swear to fuck if one more person argues about the ingredients in a godamn pill or they introduce another new character that we've never seen before and don't really care about or have one more moment where someone tries to manipulate someone else by being vague and mysterious for no apparent reason ... I'm going to shoot my TV. It's the last season guys, STEP IT THE FUCK UP!
That is all.

Kate's a really nice murderer remember. And Cassidy pretty much did the same thing for her. I think the on-island stuff has been pretty good!

Hmm...I liked crazy Claire and Jack trying to be a better dad than Christian. I take it you're eager for them to hurry up with the temple stuff?

I'm watching that episode now. Here's the deal: not a good episode. But that's a FANTASTIC scene. That actor absolutely rocks every shitty role he's given (Legion, Wolverine, Lost).
The temple stuff is the same ole bullshit that doesn't matter. Old characters refusing to communicate for no reason, new characters we have no reason to like, everyone standing around the pretty scenery speaking vaguely about fate. Everything that's weak about the show in concentrated form. Nothing builds, nothing has flow, it's just bitches whining until the final ten minutes when something mysterious happens.
Alright, as I wrote this I got the black smoke attack ... yes taht was cool, but like I said, it's the only thing important that happened in 40 minutes. Maybe now that those lame characters in the temple are dead the story can move on.

Why this episode is awesome, a list:
1. Nadia's married. Even in the alt timeline, Nadia and Said can't be together. He's doomed. 2. BADASS SAYID VS DOGEN FIGHT! HELLS YEAH! SAYID USED A BROOMSTICK! 3. Sayid has a break-your-arm reflex for when his brother wakes him up, and also knows that it's 02:30 in the morning without checking a clock - he's just that badass! 4. In both timelines, someone is asking Sayid to kill for them. 5. Jack flitted past in the hospital where Sayid's brother was, echoing the path-crossings of Season 1. 6. Crazy Claire. 7. UnLocke pulling a knife out of his chest and temptation-of-christing Sayid. 8. Sayid's "I can't be with you because I don't deserve you". Man tears. 9. Evil Claire 10. I MAKE GOOD EGGS. 11. Oh snap, the money in Jin's suitcase was Keamy's money! 12. The smoke monster attack.
