Two new pictures of the young Mr. Gyllenhaal on the set of the next big video game to movie adaptation 'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time' have popped up online.

The look of the character seems pretty spot on what we saw in the video game, and the plot seems quite faithful to the original (such as there was one)

Quote
The film is based on the video game of the same name and features Gyllenhaal as "an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world."

The one thing that gives me hope that this film might break the mould of video game adaptations being lousy is that there is plenty of scope for the Jerry Bruckheimer the director to show off some crazy time-bending special effects, and insane hand to hand combat meaning it may work on the level of a summer blockbuster. What do you think about Gyllenhaal's look here, and about the viability of this movie?

Personally I think his face is one size too big for his head. But these publicity photos are put out for the female cinemagoers, so I'm wondering if they work.

On another note, it always surprised me how popular this game is.

Anyone else notice that Sheridan asked the ladies and T.Ross chimes in with a bunch exclamation marks!  That was awesome.

I'd never heard of the game before this movie, but I'm sure it will be a professional looking piece of tripe, ala Transformers. Though, Mike Newell did a GREAT job with the Potter franchise.

Sheridan, don't feel bad. On aintitcool the ENTIRE article was about his "bulge" so I think, compared to that, you retain your straight manhood title.

On another side not, what's with all the hate on his sister Maggie???  Guys commented on how ugly she is.  I think she's adorable.  And not afraid to show her rack in movie after movie.  (I'm almost positive there's a scene of her flashing The Joker currently residing on the editing room floor).  What more could you ask for?!

In The Dark Knight Maggie Gyllenhaal had this very pronouced weird groove between her nose and her mouth. Bothered me.

Dal, I can get behind that.  And she does indeed kick most "actresses" asses right off the screen.

nah, maggie gyllenhaal is quite hideous. and as far as her acting goes...i personally feel she's highly overrated as a performer, in all honesty, her rachel dawes wasn't a whole lot better than katie holmes'.

Only in Hollywood could someone like her be considered hideous.  In real life she'd be the cute receptionist you flirt with while heading to your cubicle.

Those pictures wouldn't get me to see the movie.
I think that second picture is deserving of the caption "Do these pants make me look fat?"
The game always looked fun so if I heard it was good movie i'd see it but not for Jake Gyllenhaal.
