Despite being shrouded in secrecy a few tidbits are starting to leak out regarding the latest project from Joss Whedon. He'll be co-writing and producing the generically titled THE CABIN IN THE WOODS. Joining him is CLOVERFIELD writer Drew Goddard who'll be the one behind the camera this time.
It also sounds like it'll be some sort of horror movie based on this quote from him who while discussing the project's young, relatively unknown cast members had this to say, "These are people you care about, able to go toe to toe with the amazing actors we've corralled thus far, and not unpretty in the bargain. I can't wait to harm them." Those actors are Bradley Whitford (NBC's STUDIO 60 ON THE SUNSET) and Richard Jenkins (last seen in the Coen brothers' BURN AFTER READING). The previously mentioned young casts consists of Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz and Jesse Williams.
The film is currently shooting and wille be released on February 5th, 2010.
So what are your thoughts, kids? Will we soon be finding the internet saturated with the same kind of cryptic viral promotion used to transform CLOVERFIELD into a monster-sized hit?
