The new international posters for JJ Abrams' Star Trek re-(vamp/boot/make/imagining/tcon) are online. The posters predominantly use images that we've seen before, but this time all their heads are floating and some badassery has been superimposed. Enjoy!

After the tantalising teaser, cool TV spot and mind blowing trailers, the one disappointing thing about Star Trek has been the posters. They're just really unimaginative...maybe it's because the franchise has been around so long that designers find it hard to be inspired (the recent Bond posters are stale too) but it would have been nice to see some really impressive artwork to accompany what has otherwise been a nicely marketed movie.

What do you guys think?

yeah, the top one looks like a variation of the poster for jumper, and those black and white heads are just as boring as...well, this:

not that there was ANYTHING wrong with the movie...we need to do a good movie/bad poster thread

Spock does have an absolutely incredible bowl haircut.

Is anyone else feeling a bit concerned that Spock barely features at all in the trailer? In the latest full trailer I don't even think he gets a line. Wonder if the performance is a bit rubbish.

He certainly looks the part, but I"m dubious cause of this Heroes resume.

It's interesting so see JJ's take on the whole thing. For him, it's all about Kirk and Spock (almost accidentally spelled it "spick") while the show and first six films used Kirk, Spock, and Bones for the main character thrust. It was ALWAYS about those three. When the screenwriters sat down and revamped the franchise after the first movie bombed (actually quite a good movie, just a different, slower vibe than the show) they realized it had to be about those three to make the story work.

That first trailer, though it was a good concept, really made the damn thing feel like a Fox show, which is disconcerting.

Is that Bourne poster real? It looks like an ad for the Incredible Hulk.

yeah, i was opposite it on the tube every day for months and it was slowly wearing away at my excitement to see the movie - i'm pretty sure posters are meant to do the opposite of that...

(oh, and i look like a dumbass for insulting those posters now that the stylish US one is on front page too!)

Yeah there are actually 5 new posters floating about. I'll remove the US one so it matches.

It's kinda funny but irritating that they've tried to turn Kirk into a heartthrob.  I know there wasn't an alien specie that he didn't nail but that was coz he was cocky, not cute.

Chris Pine was great in Smokin Aces. After seeing it, I immediately suggested to the movie-moron sub editor to hire him for the lead part in an upcoming LucasArts computer game he was working on. Sub-editor and I agreed he was likely to break out as he had the acting chops and matinee looks, and was taking the right sort of roles. He'd be cheap now and by the time the game came out there was a good chance he'd be a bigger name. They screen tested him, he was great, but LucasArts didn't like him (yet another dumb decision) and LucasArts overruled and went with some untalented idiot instead. Then Chris Pine got cast as Captain Kirk. It would have been Captain Kirk voicing a Star Wars game. A great headline, but the idiots at LucasArts screwed it up.

The mysterious Prof. Loug almost made something good at Lucas Arts. That's cool.
Sadly, even the awesome collective power of Movie Moron cannot overcome the sheer suck factor of Mr. Lucas.

Who is Chris Pine in Smokin Aces? I LOVED that movie but everyone hated it, but I didn't know who he was then.

Lead Tremor Brother -

Prof. Loug also secured John Hurt for scale as a Jedi Master, but LucasArts said no because "Star Wars doesn't need names". When we pointed out that he's a great actor working for scale and that Phantom Menace had big names cast in almost every part they... well LucasArts make the decisions. They cast some shit nobody instead, and then boasted how he'd once been in Babylon 5, even though that contradicted the reason for turning down John Hurt.
There's a reason why Star Wars products are crap.

Smokin Aces was the bomb! And that pic that Sheridan posted is one of my favorite parts of the film!

Having said that JJ Abrams is directing and I didn't enjoy Mission Impossible 3 at all. The tone of that movie was so annoying. Went from smug to boring to moronic.

Everyone loved MI:3 except for me. I found the romance, of which there was a lot, spectacularly boring and unnecessary, was rolling my eyes when she was empowered to kill the bad guy herself. Found Tom Cruise running down the street shouting in Japanese unintentionally hilarious, Simon Pegg's acting terrible... Sigh, well each to their own.
