Agreed. MI1 is a bit slow for some people, but I like it along. Iconic scenes (wire dangling). Lots of folks were pissed on how it wasn't like the show, but honestly, who has actually seen that show? The train sequence is also amazing.

MI:2 throws away EVERYTHING the first one did. Ethan Hunt's character is completely different. He takes ludicrious risks for no reason while in the first one he was very careful and only did crazy things when his hand was forced. It also ignores the GREAT ending of the first one where Ethan tries to quit but might get sucked back in. Also, the style is SO over the top and the plot is boring.

MI:III completely ignores the second one and BUILDS upon the first one, where Ethan is "retired" and gets sucked back in. Great character development and great villain.

There's no character development in MI:3, he only has to choose between having a cool job or staying at home with his boring ass wife.

yeah, i'm not surprised! every time i hear the writers talk about what they've done it seems more and more impressive and what we've seen is incredible.

remember, the only people complaining about this movie haven't seen it, and probably look like this

Oh yeah, and apparently the film rips off Star Wars' storypoints too. Even down to the Death Star destroying planets.

When they're blown up by a Death Star-like beam, yup. Seemingly there's a lot more too, but I haven't seen it yet.

There's also a Hoth planet and a retractable sword, and Kirk travels the character arch from Luke in episode 4 and Spoke follows the character arc from empire

It's so well done, though, it's great. Like a conglomeration of all the best star wars parts.

I hate when they mess with the original character names like that.
