"I’ll be whack.” Armie’s playing Batman.

Not Arnold. Armie. Armie Hammer. This guy -

He was a complete unknown until about, hmm, two hours ago.

Here’s what can be found about him:

- He’s 6 foot 5. He has a deep voice.

- His name sounds like the baking soda Arm And Hammer.

- His only major work to date is as a hunk on Desperate Housewives.

- He’s just 21 years old. TWENTY ONE?!

This is a huge step toward the young ‘hottie’ cast Justice League is going for.

No one is going to take someone seriously in the Batman role who’s so young, and so, er, hunky. I guess we have to be thankful they’re cocking it up for themselves, because at least this has no chance of derailing Christian Bale and the Batman Begins franchise. And that has to be their thinking behind this casting - the whole purpose of the film is to launch the minor, more risky, DC characters anyway, nothing more.

Wait, you want to see him in action? Here -

...His voice is cool.

I think he'll do ok as Batman.  The only issue I can see is that he is very tall, that may lead to some strange moments where Batman is towering over everyone else.

They are obviously trying to target a younger audience, whereas the Nolan Batman films are targeting a more "mature" audience.

I also think the film has a chance of being ok as long as no-one expects it to rival Nolan's Batman, he is certainly no Christian Bale but that can hardly be held against the guy, we will have to wait and see what the rest of the cast is like, Megan Gale (Wonder Woman - as mentioned elsewhere on the site) certainly looks the part.

If they aim for drama they could have a huge problem, however, if they play it safe and go for light-hearted entertainment, it should be fine.

This guy would fit just fine as Robin perhaps but I doubt he'll be a perfect Batman.
Hm, Armie Hammer thats someone who could pull off a side kick job but I don't see him pulling off a whole Hero lead.
Well I guess I'll have to see it do finally decide whether it's good or not.

On one hand, I can see why they'd re-cast Batman, as this is not as realistically-grounded in the Nolan/Bale universe. But what's the rush for a Justice League movie? Why now? Make the respective franchises, and then do "Justice League".  They're fast-tracking and rushing the crap out of this, and that almost never turns out good. Just look at "X-Men 3".

This whole thing just sounds like a trainwreck to me.  I'm sure it'll be one hell of an effects movie (or at least it should be), but nothing released about JLA has made me want to see it come to fruition.

By the way, I thought the movie was "indefinitely postponed" or something similar.  Has that changed recently?

It was postponed during the writers' strike, but is now back on. No one is quite sure when it will start shooting. But it won't be too long.

I just hope this serious waste of cash doesn't tarnish the likes of Bats, Supes and WW, this is just a bad bad idea. I was all for it when i first heard the news but then i was kinda hoping Bale and Routh were going to be onboard in some capacity.
