the resemblance is UNCANNY!!! i'm pretty sure everyone has realised how much these two look alike by now, but it is UNCANNY!!! UNCANNY!!! but to redeem the inanity of that observation, here's something just as random, and maybe a little more cool: trash. compactor. bookends. and put to perfect use! my work here is done. oh, and also, this.

Yeah, mentioned the amazing similarity before - also note he has been cast in Christopher Nolan's Inception. The movie Nolan's making before the Dark Knight sequel.

Those bookends are awesome.
I think they should leave the Joker well alone for the next Batman film, leave it as Ledgers incarnation, don't tarnish it by trying to re-cast the role with someone who isn't in the same league acting-wise as he was.

Let's face it Ledger was great in some scenes (gangster negotiation) but 'actor acting self-consciously crazy' in others and his monologues were faintly dull (when he kills Michael Jai White). It wasn't that amazing, recast it for God's sake. Dumbledore died, they recast him before his heart had even stopped beating.

the role is going to be recast one day, i'd like the franchise to be in nolan's capable hands when it is....which is seeming less and less likely.

Levitt would make a good Joker recast, though, despite Sheridan's opinion, right or wrong, doing so will risk a HUGE fan backlash.
Levitt's an awesome actor, highly underrated. I always wanted to see him and Ledger cast as brother. The closest they came was 10 Things I Hate About You.

I see your point Sheridan but Dumbledore was written into the books before they started filming, theres no need to have the Joker back for another movie, its time for a new villain on the block.

the need to have the joker back is that that was nolan's original plan. don't forget, he didn't seem to be in two mids about making a third film prior to ledger's death

Yeah I've read numerous times that the Joker was to be a main villain in the third one and now Ledger's dead Nolan is reluctant to do it at all because he doesn't have an alternative plot he likes. He will have picked up on the enormous hostility to him recasting the role. So actually all this 'Joker is sacred and can never be recast' nonsense from rabid fans may actually kill the franchise.

Well that would be a shame, i think Nolan should do a third as it doesn't feel like they're done yet, like having your appetiser, main but no dessert.
