Gary Oldman has inked on the dotted line to join Robert Zemeckis' next 3D motion-capture movie, an adaptation of Charles Dickens classic
A Christmas Carol.
Like star Jim Carrey, Oldman will be playing a variety of different roles.
Carrey we know will be Ebenezer Scrooge, and will voice all three ghosts that haunt him. So the educated guess is that Oldman will take v.o. duties for Jacob Marley, Scrooge's dead business partner.
Oddly, Cary Elwes will be acting as Jim Carrey's stand-in on the project. What the hell kind of role is that?? What's next? - Stunt doubling for Matthew Modine? Poor Elwes. Even starring in a huge break out hit like
Saw did nothing for his career... People talk more about the dead body he was sitting next to in the film.
Anyway, Zemeckis' version of
A Christmas Carol will be out November 2009. Which is, um, a
really long time away.
