Despite the commercial disappointmen of
The Mist, Frank Darabont is still edging towards a restraining order by taking the chair for yet another Stephen King adaptation -
The Long Walk.
This Sci-Fi yarn, written under King's pseudonym Richard Bachman, tells the tale of a futuristic foot race where competitors are shot if they stop walking (sounds like an idea that would spice up the London Marathon), so that the last man walking, wins.
Darabont's next movie is
Fahrenheit 451 so
The Long Walk is still a way off but if anyone can bring the gritty dark future story to life then, as the most successful King adaptor to date, Darabont's the guy to do it.
