That is the poster for the fourth movie in the Final Destination franchise. That's right, they don't want you to think they're irrelevant or that they're overstayed their welcome, so they're avoided the number in the title this time around. The poster is actually pretty damn striking, possibly the best poster for the series so far. What do you think?

The story synopsis is as follows:

Quote
On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O'Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave... escaping seconds before Nick's frightening vision becomes a terrible reality. Thinking they've cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one--in increasingly gruesome ways--Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination. The film marks the latest in the highly popular "Final Destination" series, and its first 3D installment, giving horror fans an especially visceral thrill ride.

Wasn't that coaster one in 3-D? I could have sworn the kids were wearing  3-D glasses on the coaster ...

Ah, now it's working. Weird.

That IS a pretty good poster.

I used to email correspond with the guy who wrote the first one.

The image is there now. They wouldn't allow hotlinking so I had to move it.

I can't remember if the 3rd one was in 3D, I'm pretty sure it wasn't IMAX 3D, because My Bloody Valentine was the first horror to do that.

Which screenwriter, Glen Morgan, James Wong or Jeffrey Reddick? How come you were talking? The first is one of the best horror films of the last 20 years, but it just can't think of an ending.

The thrid one wasnt in 3d... Im super excited for this film. Yeah I will admit the acting can be crap in these films sometimes...but the kills are always badass...they stay creative with them...

I have to say even when the films are dumb as hell (especially 2 - just awful), I do enjoy the kills. And the pile up in the second one is great fun to watch.

Yeah final destination was badass. Great fun, great concept. I seem to remember a more thoughtful, happier ending on the DVD extras that was dropped after audience testing so it might be worth checking that out Sheridan if you haven't already.

Yeah I did see the original ending for the first movie, it was a decent concept (she gets pregnant, and it's the creation of that new life that breaks the death chain), but I can also understand why it was rejected, it wasn't well staged and far too low key. Better, but still broken.

I've just noticed the tagline, that MUST have been used before.

I'd never heard of it actually, just found it had the same tagline.
