Ironic horror was big in the 90s, but how will it fare now? It seems we will find out. Kevin Williamson has apparently decided to write another Scream trilogy (yes, you DID read that right) and so far, the original cast seem to be forming again. The Arquettes, Courtney and David, are in talks to reprise their original roles. This could mean anything really, given that Courtney's mostly been doing failed TV series and David's been searching for change down the back of the couch for the last ten years or so since the original film trilogy ended. Whether or not Neve Campbell will return remains to be seen.

The main question is: Why now? While I like to be optimistic about films, and I did enjoy the previous 'Scream' films, it seems an odd time to resurrect the franchise, and certainly ambitious to do another THREE films. Still, we can only wait and see how it shapes up.

The first one was great - a real shocker especially with Drew Barrymore dying really early on. Two and three were terrible, as with all horror sequels. Kevin Williamson should leave Scream in the grave and come up with something new already!

Personally i enjoyed all 3 Scream movies but i hate the idea of the original cast being involved, i think they should go down the Final Destination route and have an entirely unique cast except maybe use the Randy Meeks videos to link them.

Yeah, I love the first 1 4/5 Scream films, but the third proved they are all burnt out. A complete reboot (Ghostface included) is needed.
