Well after a bit of a snoop around i found this little gem on Cliver Barker's Twitter page, he says:

"Pascal Laugier is regrettably no longer on the Hellraiser remake. I think Martyrs is extraordinary...I don't know much more. I mean why would anyone tell me? I mostly discover these things here or through friends who still buy the trades."

Nothing else. Now this is interesting because at the start of all this Barker has always been keen on Laugier because of his love for Martyrs, guess this shows just how little power he has on this one then.

Personally i wouldn't mind Barker himself having another stab, he knows the material inside out and did a pretty good job first time round

Not sure T.Ross, i can't find anything saying he wouldn't do it, i mean he's on board as an executive producer and is also giving the script a polish, maybe he just has too much on to commit.

Haha did you have the box and the leather outfit Sheridan?

Actually, I really do think the PD guys really love the movies they're butchering. I'm not trying to be cynical here. I really think they care about the product, I just don't think it's good product.

Absolutely T.Ross, the problem for me is that i don't believe them. They don't really have a clue as to why the films they're ripping off were good in the first place. The thing is i actually want them to make a good film, i mean they're putting serious money into making them but so far they have missed the target almost every time.
Apart from their TCM remake which was good their films are pretty much devoid of any tension or decent scares, you only have to look at Drag Me To Hell to see where they're going so wrong. If they used half the imagination that was on display there for characters that have already been established PD would be onto a winner. Here's hoping.

I will have to disagree that they do have passion for their films. Which one of their films do u like the most and which one do u like the least??

The film i like the most is their TCM remake, which while stealing a ton of shots from the original, atill managed to be scary and in places, quite chilling.
My least favourite would have to be jointly awarded to The Hitcher and The Amityville Horror. Sean Bean was horribly mis-cast and again they robbed the original of so many shots and scenes it almost became a parody and as fort TAH, where were the scares, the suspense, the build up to what this house was about? it could have been a really good movie but everything from the woeful acting from Ryan Reynolds and Melissa George to the dire final act felt like it had been made just to cash in on an infamous movie title.
