The trailer is up for the latest DiCaprio/Scorsese collabo, Shutter Island. The adaptation of Dennis Lehane's novel finds Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio) visiting Arkham Asylum Ashecliffe Hospital for the Criminally Insane on the trail of a murderous escapee.

Quote
Daniels finds his own future and sanity on the line. It is the 1950s and experiments with drugs, conditioning and brain surgery are all the rage both in the psychiatric profession and in the shadow world of government agencies.

Teddy rapidly becomes aware that no-one he is talking to is remotely telling him the truth and that he cannot be wholly sure even of his charming new partner. As the island hospital is isolated by a hurricane, we find ourselves unable to trust a single thing that the narrative tells us

After seeing this trailer Shutter Island has taken the spot now vacated by Public Enemies in my scale of anticipation. It's haunting, beautifully shot, and above all stars Ming the Merciless! It didn't do Minority Report any harm. There's a whole bunch of HD screencaps for your perusal down below, see if you can spot the Hitchcock homage (and pray it's not foreshadowing, unless you wanna see Mark Ruffalo in a dress.)

He did Cape Fear don't forget, that was as much a horror as this, probably more so.

Good point and i really enjoyed that (especially with DeNiro chewing up every piece of scenery available to him) although he has since said he did it more as a gun for hire, which i think does him an injustice. It does come across as a mix of Cape Fear and Silence of the Lambs for me, which makes me even more syked for it.

i noticed that the second time i watched the trailer, it must be part of the psychological games they play with the inmates...or a dream sequence maybe.

This is my number 1 must see movie for me. I always have certain Directors that i look to when I'm directing and Scorsese has been consistent at growing in literally every film he has made and this for me, just on these shots is just celluloid chocolate cake.
