The first pictures from the forth coming horror comedy Zombieland have infected the Internets and here they are for your gory glory:

Above: from left to right: Michael Cera lookalike Jesse Eisenberg (The Village), Max Payne and Family Guy's Mila Kunis, some little girl (just kidding, it's Abigail Breslin from Nim's Island) and Woody GODDAMN Harrelson tool up to take on the living dead.

Above: RUUUN! GET TO DA MOTAR!

Above: Big man. Big hat. Big grin. Fuckin' A.

Above: If his head doesn't come clean off, I've been playing too much Dead Rising

It all looks good and fun, but the problem is that this is inherrently a mutant cross-breed of genres and horror comedies never fuse all that well. there have been good ones in recent years, but Shaun of the Dead was too funny to be a horror and Severance's wit and one-liners undermined the excellence of the violence.

Zombieland is directed by Ruben Fleischer - The Girls Guitar Club - [um, what - ed] and will see a release on October 30th.

I didn't know that, that's a good sign. I like the principle cast a lot.

I like the cast but the whole premise feels a little 'late to the party' for me.

My thoughts exactly. Someone pitched a zombie comedy movie to me the other night and it was a good idea, it just seemed old hat.

Still, I'll see this. And Shaun of the Dead and Severence are two of the best films I've seen in recent years. Genius work.
