Watchmen Director's Cut: Extension Rundown

That's cool. I really enjoyed reading Watchmen this year. I didn't think the film was terrible, visually I thought it was an incredible translation. Some of the characters and plot ideas it got dead right, others missed the mark. The ending was always tricky and they basically fumbled it. The Mars scenes were so much more profound in the graphic novel.

yeah definitely.  When the statue is built I reckon Northampton will become the Mecca of comics and people will come from all around the world to worship Alan Moore.

yeah they were my favourite bits as well. The genius of those bits was the way they were told, with Manhattan's view of time as a completed object rather than an unravelling mystery. That was always going to be impossible to translate to film, I don't think any other artistic medium could have done those chapters more effectively than how it was done in the comic.

It was definitely a good idea to leave out the big fake alien in the film though, that would have looked ridiculous on screen.
