The poster for the promised 'American Shaun of the Dead' is online, with Woody Harrelson in all his cowboy-hatted glory:

With director Ruben Fleischer promising jacked-up zombies (think the Dawn of the Dead remake here), guns, gore, baseball bats and even a Bill Murray cameo, will this deliver on its promise?

Zombieland staggers into cinemas and eats the brains of its audience on October 9th.

This movie looks hilarious. I hate fast zombies, but apparently they thought it worked better for the humor.

fast zombies sounds weird, but was there ever a proper explanation for their being slow...? slightly related - how can twilight's vampires walk around in the daytime?

They idea behind slow zombies is that all their muscles were decayed. Plus, being dead just kinda makes you groggy.  It also works metaphorically cause death slowly creeps up on you, etc. See Simon Pegg's essay about it, it's actually quite awesome. And geeky.

I'm actually okay with fast zombies for fresh deaths cause they wouldn't be decayed yet and rigor mortis wouldn't have set in. But I hate that they're coordinated. Being dead is a detriment, it shouldn't make you a kunk-fu master.

There are no vampires in Twilight. They stay out of the sun because they sparkle and people will know they are different. They don't burn up, they sparkle.

They sparkle.

They fucking sparkle.

There are not vampires in Twilight because vampires

DONT FUCKING SPARKLE

All better now ...

I don't mind running zombies as a variation, as long as they don't replace shuffling zombies entirely. Running makes little sense, but it is frightening. I'd also like to see ones that bunny hop twenty feet in the air as they chase you - again, not logical, but terrifying.

I'm pretty sure Dracula was actually slash-fic about two guys making out.

Zombies should be, as their creator said in Night of the Living Dead, 'they're all messed up!' Thus, no running.
