'The Invention of Lying' Clips

Last but not least, we take a look at another comedy released this friday- Ricky Gervais's The Invention of Lying. The film marks Gervais's directorial debut for film (he has directed for TV with The Office and Extras) and is set in a world where people are unable to lie or even grasp the concept, until one man discovers he is different.

Here is an interview with Ricky where he discusses the concept of the film, the actors involved and the creative process of taking an idea from script to screen...

Out of everything released this week, this is definitely the film I am most excited about. Gervais's brilliance as a writer elevates it above being just a standard romantic comedy, judging from what i've seen so far anyway. Ghost Town was an unexpected treat and with this Ricky Gervais looks like he will further confirm his ability to be funny on the big screen as well as on the small one.
