In a brand new interview over at Figures.com, NECA's Head of Product Development, Randy Falk, not only answers a bunch of fan questions, but also reveals your first ever look at the Freddy Krueger figure from Warner Bros. forthcoming remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. In addition, Dread Central got their hands on a look at an pre-burn Freddy (played by Jackie Earle Haley). There are no release plans for these figures just yet. You can check out both images below, along with some more major news.

"Yes, we have re-acquired the rights to Freddy and Jason," Falk tells Figures.com readers. "Michael Myers is not part of the New Line franchise but we do have the classic Michael Myers rights as well. We are working on figures from the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street (new Freddy Krueger pictured below) and at least two figures will be out for the release of the film with possibly more to follow. We have also begun work on a definitive classic original ANOES Freddy to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Elm Street franchise. There will be more news on both Jason and Freddy come Toy Fair."

I honestly don't know how I feel about it. In a way it's too disgusting? There's a fine line between scary and flat out gross. That's why slasher films do well but horror films about puss flies aren't too popular.

I have a friend that suffered burns like this and this make-up is shockingly accurate. Almost so much so that I can foresee backlash at the filmmakers for portraying burn victims as monsters.

While I normally commend movies for honesty and accuracy, in this case I'd have to say what's the point? It's silly, fun, violent teen titilation. There can't be any "artistic" motivation behind this? Right? Maybe they're trying to make him more sympathetic? If so, holy shit, they really need to rethink what the hell they're doing. I'm all for revamping things, but how on earth do you make a sympathetic villain in a slasher film?
