The first trailer for the next (and final) instalment in the overlong
Shrek series is here, so check it out now. If you want to, that is. Feel free to walk away from this one.
The official blurb for the movie reads as follows:
After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws kingdom, whats an ogre to do? Well, if youre Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek is tricked into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumplestiltskin is king, Donkey is an intellectual, Lord Farquaad is still alive, and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it's up to Shrek to undo all of Rumpelstiltskin's mischief in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world, and reclaiming his One True Love and family.
Um... did anyone else not see any of that in the trailer? It sounds exactly the same as the bone-shatteringly awful
The Santa Claus 3: The Escape Claus, in which the world was changed... in the final twenty minutes of the film. We'll see if it wipes away the memories of
Shrek the Third[Does anyone actually remember that film? -Ed] next May.
