Over the weeks approaching the release of Toy Story 3, Pixar are releasing character names, pics and faux toy details to stoke the fires of anticipation to even greater heats. The latest details are of a green insectoid fellow named Twitch. The character is voiced by Jeff Garlin who previously voiced the captain in Pixar's Wall-E.

Here's the description and pic
Quote
Meet Twitch, the insectaloid warrior, where MAN + INSECT = AWESOME! This sturdy action figure stands over five inches tall, with more than 15 points of articulation, including ferocious chomping mandibles. Use his powerful wings and impenetrable exoskeleton to evade capture! Twitch is meticulously detailed and includes his signature magical battle staff and removable chest armor. For children ages 4 and up. Other insectaloid figures sold separately.

Here's the other posters that have so far been released. Expect more in coming weeks.

Toy Story 2 equalled, some say exceeded, the quality of the first film so expectation is sky high for number 3. I was slightly skeptical about whether the series had any more legs but the recent trailers have shown enough to suggest it will be an enjoyable continuation of the story.

One day we'll all be bowing down to something that looks like Twitch. Better get used to it.

I recently rewatched Toy Story 2 ... our memories are false. It might be the weakest Pixar script. Strong concept and opening act, but the end devolves into a string of lame star wars jokes.

There's no such thing as a lame Star Wars joke.
