British papers are buzzing today with the news that Gemma Arterton has been cast as the new Bond girl.

At 22, she’s only got one completed film under her belt (
St.Trinian’s) but she’s currently filming Guy Richie’s new gangster epic
RocknRolla opposite Gerard ‘Spaartaa’ Butler.
There’s a second Bond girl, a South American, yet to be cast. It’s likely theirs will be the more significant role as much of the film is set in the region. The current favourites are Brazilian Cleo Pires, and Israeli actress Moran Atias.

The Golden Compass, he explained that while Bond earned his 00 status in
Casino Royale, he moves up to the rank of 007 in the new film. When asked if 007 would be part of the title Craig stumbled and said he may have given too much away.
Bond 22 is set to start filming in January. It’ll be directed by Marc Forster, the man behind
Finding Neverland and
Monster’s Ball.
