This is either lunacy or brilliance: comic book scribe Warren Ellis has been working on Excalibur, and rumour has it director Guy Ritchie is set to join him.

The new version of Arthurian legend is allegedly quite different from previous incarnations:

Quote
It differs from the prior 751 King Arthur movies in many ways, but perhaps most obviously in that it is very specifically about the gathering of the Knights.

That and it's written by Warren Ellis, who is a genius and a madman, usually at the same time. Click the link if you would like to Talk Like Warren Ellis.

Hopefully, whatever version of the King Arthur story we end up with, it is nothing like the one with Keira Knightley and Clive Owen, because that one literally took everything cool about King Arthur, tore it up and threw it out of a window. They took the myth out of the myth. Why would you do that?

What do you guy's think about Ritchie's involvement? Is he the man for the job? We've seen him do more than gangster movies now that Sherlock Holmes has hit...

I've decided to make it a habit of having the subject of the main photo acting/looking like a moron, in honour of our name.

Not sure if Guy Ritchie is right for this, but then again i'm not sure if Guy Ritchie is right for anything. Sherlock was pretty decent though.
I really want to see the old Excalibur directed by John Boorman, has anyone seen it?
