Twilight star Taylor Lautner is set to take the lead in a Bourne-like thriller called Abduction, and the director set to help is none other than John Singleton.
The Boyz N The Hood, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Four Brothers director will direct Lautner as a boy whose strained relationship with his parents becomes even worse when he discovers that they kidnapped him as a baby, and he begins to uncover a sprawling conspiracy - much violence and many action set-pieces undoubtedly ensue.
John Singleton seems like a fairly safe pair of hands, likely to at least an enjoyable movie if not a fantastic one, and he has been Oscar nominated twice. What do you think of this team up? Is Lautner the next big thing? Lautner making a thriller after the massive blockbuster success of Twilight kind of reminds me of Shia LeBeouf making the thriller Eagle Eye after having a big hit with Transformers, and Will Smith making Enemy of the State after his big hits Independence Day and Men In Black. Tangential, I know.
