Dwight Little, director of such classics as Anancondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid and Free Willy 2 - The Adventure Home, is set to direct the live-action Tekken movie.
My thoughts are somewhat mixed. Little has extensive experience directing TV, notably episodes of Prison Break, 24, X-Files and most recently, Bones, so we all know the fairly high standard those shows bring to the table (not sure about Bones though). That being said, can he actually translate his relative success of working with decent scripts to feature length? I have seen the second Anacondas film and its basically the same as the first except without the cast that seems too good to be there (Owen Wilson, Jon Voight, Eric Stoltz... wtf?) and the B-movie feel (unless you count the shoddy CGI)... I get the distinct feeling that we are in for another DOA/Streetfighter type movie where it could be so bad that it's good....
Maxim did a shoot with the "Girls of Tekken" ages ago... perhaps this is our closest imagining of what we're going to get??
From left to right: Lili, Christie Montero, Ling Xiayou
.... actually, why the hell am I complaining again??
