The first official look at Chris Hemsworth in costume as Marvel's Thor has been released! Take a look:

It's way more rubber-suity than expected. I thought it would be fabric and metal, like something Weta would do, not like Batman. The design however, is very good. And it'll probably be cool in motion. And we've yet to see the helmet.
And Latino review got their hands on a shot of one of the foes that The Mighty Thor will go up against in the forthcoming Marvel movie. That villain is the Destroyer. Take a peek:

Pretty on-the-nose with the design there. In fact, it's way more faithful than I'm sure many fans were expecting. It' the kind of design that the production could have easily deviated from without incurring much wrath, which bodes well for their fidelity to the source material. It's also probably the most
Kirby-like thing to ever be in a live action movie (what with Rise of the Silver Surfer robbing us of the awesomeness of
Galactus.
Marvel tell the origin of The Destroyer thusly:
The Destroyer was created, by the command of Odin, as a weapon to use against the mighty Celestials. The task was taken on by the finest craftsmen of Asgard, and once finished Odin, Zeus, and all other leading Earth gods transferred a portion of their power into the construct which gave it superhuman strength and energy manipulating powers. Odin then had the Destroyer sealed within a temple within a plateau hoping it would be out of reach of any would use its tremendous powers for evil until the purpose it was designed for could be implemented.
It's basically an animated suit of armour, and Thor going up against it should help with the perceived difficulty in transitioning to standing alongside Iron Man in future adventures.
So what do you think? Cool looking? Dumb looking? Reserving judgement until you see them motion?
