So, Joaquin Phoenix has been a little...off lately. What with the hermit beard, the sunglasses 24/7, the quitting acting and the rapping. But, everyone hopes, it's all in the name of good fun. As soon as it was heard that Casey Affleck was filming a "documentary" about the star, everyone felt it was safe to assume that this documentary was more along the lines of a mockumentary, and that Joaquin's weird ways were all part of an elaborate act.
We could be in store for something truly masterful. It may not be on the level of something like Borat, but it is fair to say that Phoenix LIVED this character. Or, rather, this bizarro version of himself.
The completed movie has been screened, so we'll likely learn more about it in the near future. Meanwhile, take a look at the kind of insanity you can expect from the finished product:
