"...it delves into the space race between the U.S.S.R. and the USA, suggesting there was a hidden Transformers role in it all that remains one of the planet’s most dangerous secrets. “The movie is more of a mystery,” Bay says. “It ties in what we know as history growing up as kids with what really happened.” Putting Transformers into human history is shit and adds nothing - didn't they see Aliens vs Predator? Did all the pyramids and 'they were Gods' stuff in Transformers 2 play well, no it was crap. Move the story forward, have the story be about the relationships between developed transformers characters, and not Sam screaming with flared nostrils while hiding under a table.

Yes
There is a great sci-fi movie in this concept but they keep being retarded.

Agreed. The moment I realized that the MacGuffin for the first flick was a pair of antique glasses with a magical map imprinted on them ... a map that later led our intrepid "heroes" to a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LOCATION ... well ... that's when I gave up on the series. There's no hope until a reboot. And, to be honest, I think this material is much better suited for a CG animated movie.

Who do you think would do the toy robots justice if you deem Michael Bay incapable?

Doesn't need to be violent with blood. Bay had Optimus tear a Transformer's head off. Star Wars and Phantom Menace were both made with kids in mind and look at the difference between them, kids in mind doesn't mean it has to be brainless.

The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe is one of the most beloved kids books and has the oldest brother killing a wolf and also, you know, tortures God.
I'd never feed my kids this Transformers shit. Brainless garbage. Why is it alright to phone in quality for kids? Would you feed your kids the worst food or the best food you could? Buy them the best clothes or the worst clothes? Why do we shrug off bad movies as "for kids." It's really pretty heinous. Asking for a coherent plot is not too much to ask. Also, let us remember the first (and really pretty good) Transformers movie, which had the balls to KILL OPTIMUS PRIME in the opening sequence!

People seem to forget that the guy who made Schindler's List and ET hand-picked this guy. He wanted this franchise to be what it is.

Would you feed your kids the worst food or the best food you could? Now that's another question... They already killed Optimus Prime in the second one. Then brought him back to life. They did the same to Megatron. And Sam. So now any deaths in the series will have no impact. When Optimus died in the animated movie he was f**king dead - sorry kids, wipe those tears and get used to it, he ain't coming back - that's how we did it in the 80s.

I have no idea what trolled means. If it means completely accurate and beyond dispute, then you're correct.
Spielberg is dead. Like, I'm talking, only Mel Gibson would fuck him-dead. As a doornail-dead. There's not a shred of art left in him. That's why he slaps his name on Transformers and The United States of Tara and cashes the check. His name used to mean spectacular with the occasional misguided but interesting misfire ... now it means shit. Quite a fall.
Michael Bay has made brainless directing choices from the start. He's worked with some silly but not-brainless scripts (The Rock) but otherwise his stuff is shit. And while I have a guilty love of Con Air, let's face it ... without a proper script it's painfull obvious how bad he is.
While Transformers was never going to be an Oscar winning tear-jerker ... it could have been silly and smart. Instead the first installment was just silly. And the second was basically a retard humping a dead dog.

I have no idea what trolled means.
It means I was playing devil's advocate and that there is no way in hell that I, an avowed nerd and comic book junkie, would condone the dumb-action-movie argument. I agree with you guys, of course Transformers could be better. That said, I enjoy the movies for what they are, the second considerably less. You guys were so easy to bait with the Spielberg thing.
