Oh joy, oh rapture.

After all the waiting, after development hell, after taking a weird super hero, casting an odd choice for lead actor, and hiring an outside-the-box French film maker ... we get this run-of-the-mill trailer for The Green Hornet:

Nothing looks particularly bad, it's just all been done before. The goofy hero, the cooler hero, the gadgets, the slo-mo fighting ...

But then again, Toy Story 3 is likely to be one of the best films of the year, and it had a very dull trailer. So there's still hope, right?

The Green Hornet was directed by Michel "Eternal Sunshine" Gondry and stars Seth "Knocked-Up" Rogan. It opens January, 2011.

QUESTION: do we REALLY want to see Seth Rogan in 3D? Answer truthfully in the comments below.

Yeah, I was expecting more Scott Pilgrim than...well, whatever this is. But I'm optimistic, it looks enjoyable, Kato seems badass.

I've just contextualised this and decided it reminds me of Iron Man.

That and it looks like a run-of-the-mill superflick, but with Seth Rogen. Iron Man looked like a run-of-the-mill superflick, but with RDJ.

Even a slimmed down Seth Rogen doesn't look like he could fight a cold let a lone crime, this is going to be dire.

You mean his persona isn't selling you on the badassery? You might get past that after Scott Pilgrim comes out.

Some would consider that a mark of success:

The show looks way better than the film. That theme tune was used in Kill Bill, but I bet you already knew that.

As a matter of fact I didn't. Need to watch Kill Bill again, I only saw it the once and never got around to Volume 2.
